Terms of use for stays, hosts & guests
Welcome to LalaNest.com. These Terms & Conditions explain how you may use our platform as a guest, host, agent, manager or visitor. By browsing, listing or contacting a host through LalaNest, you agree to these terms and to comply with the laws of Kenya.

LalaNest.com is operated in the Republic of Kenya. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should stop using the platform.
1 Definitions & LalaNest’s role
In these Terms:
- “Platform” means the LalaNest.com website and any related digital services.
- “Host” means a person or business that lists a space or property on LalaNest.
- “Guest” means a person or group that contacts a host or books a stay through LalaNest.
- “Listing” means any property, room, apartment, home or stay information shown on the platform.
- “You” / “User” means any person accessing or using the platform, whether a host, guest, agent or visitor.
LalaNest.com is a discovery and connection platform. We connect hosts and guests so that they can speak directly (for example via phone or WhatsApp). We are not a landlord, property owner, accommodation provider or payment escrow service. Any agreement, stay, payment schedule or dispute is strictly between the host and guest.
2 Using LalaNest as a guest or host
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding agreements under the laws of Kenya to use LalaNest as a host or to book stays as a guest.
Account & phone-based login
LalaNest may provide phone-based login and verification (for example, through OTP codes). You agree to:
- Use your own valid mobile number and keep it up to date.
- Keep any verification codes private and secure.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
LalaNest may suspend or limit access if suspicious or abusive activity is detected.
Accurate information
You agree to provide accurate, truthful and up-to-date information on the platform, including property details, photos, prices and availability (for hosts) and basic contact details (for guests).
3 Listings, trusted badge & bookings
Host responsibilities
- Ensure you have the legal right to list and rent out the property or room.
- Describe the space honestly, including photos, pricing, capacity and house rules.
- Comply with applicable Kenyan laws, regulations, by-laws and licensing requirements.
- Handle guest communication and payments directly and transparently.
Guest responsibilities
- Communicate respectfully with hosts and clarify all details before confirming a stay.
- Respect house rules, neighbours, property and agreed check-in/check-out times.
- Pay hosts as agreed between you and the host (LalaNest is not a party to your payment agreement).
“100% Trusted” badge
LalaNest may show a “100% Trusted” or similar badge for certain listings that have undergone extra verification checks (for example, site visits, document review or verification by a trusted manager or partner). This badge:
- Indicates that additional checks have been done at a point in time.
- Does not replace your own due diligence as a guest.
- Is not an insurance, guarantee or warranty of safety, quality or suitability.
Hosts must not misuse or falsely claim the trusted badge outside the platform.
4 Payments, fees & offline agreements
LalaNest is designed as a direct-contact platform. In many cases, guests and hosts agree payment terms directly (for example, via mobile money, bank transfer or cash) without funds passing through LalaNest.
- Any booking, deposit or refund agreement is strictly between host and guest.
- LalaNest is not responsible for collecting, holding or safeguarding guest or host funds unless explicitly stated in writing for a specific product.
- Hosts are responsible for any taxes, levies or statutory payments arising from their hosting activity.
Where LalaNest introduces optional paid features (for example, sponsored listings, promotions or badges), the terms, pricing and billing details will be displayed separately within the platform at the point of purchase.
5 Acceptable use & user content
You agree not to use LalaNest for any unlawful, harmful or abusive purpose. This includes:
- Posting false, misleading or fraudulent listings or reviews.
- Harassing, threatening or discriminating against other users.
- Attempting to hack, scrape, overload or disrupt the platform.
- Sharing content that is obscene, defamatory or infringes the rights of others.
You confirm that any photos, text, media or other content you upload or share on LalaNest:
- Is your own content or you have the right to use it.
- Does not violate any third-party rights, including copyright and privacy.
- May be displayed on the platform in connection with your listing or profile.
LalaNest may remove or hide content, or suspend accounts, where these terms are breached or where content is reported and reasonably considered harmful, illegal or inappropriate.
6 Privacy & personal data
LalaNest collects and processes certain personal data (for example, phone numbers, basic profile data, listing details and usage analytics) to operate the platform and connect hosts and guests.
We aim to handle your information responsibly and in line with applicable data protection requirements in Kenya. A separate Privacy Policy may provide more detailed information about how your data is collected, used and stored.
By using LalaNest, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described on the platform and in any privacy-related notices. If you have questions about your data, you can contact us at sleep@lalanest.com.
7 Liability, indemnity & ending your use
Platform “as is”
LalaNest is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we try to keep information accurate and the platform available, we do not guarantee continuous, error-free or uninterrupted service.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law in Kenya, LalaNest and its founders, employees and partners are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, business or goodwill arising from your use of the platform or any stay, booking or communication between hosts and guests.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LalaNest from any claims, demands, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of the platform, or your interactions with other users.
Suspension or termination
LalaNest may suspend, limit or terminate your access to all or part of the platform where:
- We reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
- We receive serious complaints or reports about your conduct.
- We are required to do so by law or by a competent authority in Kenya.
You may stop using LalaNest at any time. Any rights or obligations that have already arisen (including payments and stays agreed with other users) will not be affected.
8 Changes to these Terms & how to contact us
LalaNest may update these Terms from time to time, for example, when we introduce new features, respond to legal changes in Kenya or improve clarity. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may provide an in-app or email notice.
By continuing to use the platform after an update, you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using LalaNest.
